I started making a colorwheel quilt MONTHS ago (like 9 months). I cut out all the wedges and enjoyed arranging them and even sewing the quadrants together. And then they sat, taking up residence on my design wall forever.
Finally, last night, I decided to just finish the damn thing:
I can mark this one off my WiP list! Why the heck did I wait so long?? Cutting out and sewing on the background pieces took about an hour! Sometimes I drive myself nuts. This quilt top could have been complete eons ago, lol! Really, this whole quilt goes together quickly and smoothly. The longest part was probably digging through my scrap bins and cutting out all the wedges. That was fun, though :) Here are a few of my favorites:
Tiny seahorses!!
Love that goldfish :)
Mingle Squares. Need I say more?
Puppies playing!
Dots.
That 'Wild Thyme' print and Woodgrain :)
I think I'd like to try this quilt again with more of a monochromatic scheme. Could be very cute in an array of pinks on a gray background!
I love those seahorses! Love seahorses! Very cool fabrics.
ReplyDeletethat's a great rainbow .. is it for the Dresden summer challenge? or just for fun?

ReplyDeleteit looks fabulous, good on you for finishing it up!
ReplyDeleteYour color wheel quilt turned out great! I think I'm more of a procrastinator, I'm finally piecing mine after cutting the template in June 2010! I've run into problems with the wedges being larger than the white background templates. Did you find that they fit together ok?
